We are now seeking Nominations for the 2026 Haslemere Volunteers Award. This is the 16th year of the Scheme which was instigated by the late Sir Ray Tindle, founder of the Tindle Media Group. To date, over 160 people have received a Haslemere Volunteers Award Medal which are presented following the Haslemere Town Meetings, this year being on the 25th March, at the Haslemere Educational Museum. The Medals are unique and were kindly presented to the Awards Panel by Sir Ray himself.Nominations, which need to be seconded, should be made of people (not organisations) living in Haslemere, or its surrounding villages, preferably people who have served the community over a period of years and in a number of ways and who merit this Honour. The Scheme is totally independent and has no affiliation with The Town Council or any other body. Nominations must be of people not holding an elected public office, either local or national, and who have not already been awarded a National Honour. Application Forms are available here, through Facebook, and the ‘This is Haslemere’ and the Haslemere Community websites. They should be completed, in confidence, and returned to the email address shown on the document by 28th February. Those making a nomination will be informed of its success, or not, by 18th March with details for successful applicants and their sponsors to attend the Presentation. A brief citation will be drawn from the Application Form and be read out at the Ceremony. Any queries should be sent to Christopher Ashton-Jones, Chairman of the Panel, on christopher@haslemere.com, | |||||
