Pilgrim & Russell - Recent Abstract Paintings

Peter Pilgrim and Bruce Russell have remarkably parallel professional stories, both creative and academic over fifty years. Their vibrant abstract paintings reflect their lifetimes' journeys - Pilgrim's long career in textile design, lately transitioning to canvas, and Russell's much earlier migration from typography to paint. They share the influence of contemporary jazz with its free-flowing fusion of structure and improvisation. both have exhibited around the world and have works in international collections.

Surrey Contemporaries - Autumn Art Exhibition

This group of locally-based artists enjoy painting and exhibiting their work together. Working mainly in acrylics and oils, but with the odd watercolour thrown in, their work is varied and covers a wide range of subjects including landscapes, seascapes, animal art, portraiture and abstract art - most with a slightly contemporary twist.
