Haslemere U3A talk: 'My Life as an Extra'

With Speaker Andy Bustin who started in the film industry in the mid 1990ís whilst still in full time employment and has met, and worked with, many famous people. His talk includes much background information on the way TV programmes, films and advertisements are made, and the different approaches adopted by the film companies to achieve the final product, interspersed with examples of the work he has been involved with and amusing incidents. He has also appeared on stage, in many amateur and semi-professional productions, and in television quizzes. In his talk, which lasts about 45 minutes, he will show you several TV advertisements in which he has appeared. Do you remember the particular ads, and can you sp - again can you spot him? And background information on Eastenders, Holby City and Midsomer Murders, all of which work in different ways. He will talk about such things as continuity, and errors that he (and others more famous than he is), have made. How much filming is actually achieved in a day, and how many people are used to achieve that. What actually happens on a film set? He will answer all those burning questions you may have if you have ever witnessed filming being undertaken. Guests welcome to two meetings a year. Tea and biscuits provided. www.haslemere-u3a.org.uk. In bad weather, please check with Don Stacey 01428-644 423 that the meeting will go ahead.
