Fairtrade In Haslemere |
| |||||
We still need to promote Fairtrade in our community.Local awareness and support is rising but needs to be consolidated. Fairtrade days during Fairtrade Fortnight and the Food Festival are great vehicles to promote the benefits of Fairtrade. The adults are sometimes slower on catching on to Fairtrade. It is often the young who understand it so well.The Royal School run their own Fairtrade tuck shop in senior school and junior school. They were also involved with tastings, questionnaires and surveys during Haslemere Food Festival 2006. Woolmer Hill’s Miss Adams carried a questionnaire on Fairtrade Day during Fairtrade Festival 2007 and provided a display during Woolmer Hill’s Open Evening. Jack Robson and Carmen Powell ran Fairtrade cake sales, raffles and held Christmas stall in Haslemere’s Christmas Market 2007 . Mrs Bean and Mr Clayton from the geography department ran two Fairtrade Enrichment days in November 2007.
