Members are kepy informed of the Society's activities and its involvement in local issues through the newsletter in the spring and the annual report in the autumn. There are two evening meetings a year, one of which includes the annual general meeting, both with a visiting speaker on an interesting and relevant subject, and each followed by a glass or two of wine and some canapés. There is an annual outing by coach and a summer evening drinks party. All these events are well supported.

In 2009 the Society celebrated its 125th anniversary in particular style with, in addition to the usual annual events above:

  • the BBC broadcast from Haslemere Hall of Radio 4's Any Questions
  • the presentation of the history of the Society (which can be seen and downloaded under "Publications"), with its accompanying exhibition at the Museum
  • architectural Sunday morning Town Walks following the re-publication of the walks leaflets produced in collaboration with the Haslemere Visitor Information Centre (these can be seen and downloaded under "Publications" and are also available from the Museum).
  • the anniversary dinner which included entertainment by a magician and a live duo at the Georgian House Hotel (see under "Achievements").
