Haslemere organisations and schools
will process in a Carnival to remember!

To mark this momentous occasion Haslemere will be celebrating in a style fit for a Queen!

Our celebrations will include a Carnival Procession threading its way through the Town to a giant Tea Party on Lion Green. It is hoped that the Carnival will be colourful with plenty of music coming from both the entries and bands that will accompany the procession.

The Carnival procession will be assembling in High Lane (entrance via Chatsworth Avenue) at 12.45 p.m. All entries will then be judged by an independent panel of judges at 1.00pm. The procession will lead off at 1.30 p.m. via Weycombe Road and join the High Street at Pound Corner and wend its way round the Town Hall, Haslemere Station and Wey Hill to Lion Green. On arrival at Lion Green, all entries will be directed up Lion Lane and onto the smaller of the two greens.

Marshalls will be situated at all roads to hold back the traffic until the procession has passed.

For those of you who wish to use the occasion as a fund raising opportunity, it is suggested that you come armed with suitable personnel and buckets for collection. This will also be a fabulous chance to promote your organisation.

The High Lane Pavilion will be open for anyone wishing to change into costumes or for the use of the toilets. For those wishing to change back again at the end of the procession, they may use either Haslewey or the Methodist Church. It is suggested that arrangements are made to transport clothes via Weydown Road so that they are available on arrival of the procession.

All entries are acceptable, be they motorised or walking ( no limit on numbers) and all local organisations are most welcome to join in the procession. Application Forms can be downloaded here or are available from the Town Hall.
