Mrs Roseline has been working with Kings World Trust for Children for 8 years. She came from Bombay where she, her husband and two daughters lived in a slum dwelling. One day her husband went to work in the cardboard factory where he had worked for 3 years but he never came home. He travelled on a train on his way back from work but lack of space forced him to stand on the footplate outside the railway carriage door. The train lurched and he was dashed against an electricity pole alongside the track. He died instantly. Mrs Roseline went to work in the same factory but, being a woman, she only earned a small salary and could not support her family on this pittance.
Mrs Roseline decided to come to south India with her two daughters, Monika and Catherine, to stay with her sister, her only relative. Through her sister Mary she heard about Kings World Trust for Children. She applied to be a Foster Mother and was accepted into the Trust. She joined KWTC in 2002 and her two daughters were also accepted into the Girl’s Children’s Village, ‘Kings Field’. Monika and Catherine did not speak Tamil so learning it was the first priority for them. They were both selected to study in Kings School and both have achieved outstanding success in their academic studies, in swimming and as Indian Classical dancers. Mrs Roseline has seen her life and those of her daughters totally transformed after coming to KWTC and they all have a very bright future ahead.
