- British Dputy Commissioner's Visit |
British Deputy High Commissioner to South India, Mike Connor & his wife Lynne, paid a three day visit to Kings World Trust and to Kings School. Mike is the Honorary Patron of KWTC in India and we were all delighted and honoured that he and Lynne could spend time with us. Mike and Lynne visited both the boy's and girl's Children’s Villages, saw the Trust's Medical 'outreach' children undergoing physiotherapy and occupational therapy. They attended a Kings School special assembly and saw all the academic work, activities and sports at Kings School. Mike laid the Foundation stone on a colourful wall for the new Kings School Arts Centre. Lynne had a long time wish to visit Kanyakumari (Cape Comerin), the southern tip of India, so with 25 Trust children, she and Mike took a boat trip to the Vivekananda Rock and saw the tourist sights. They toured Vattakottai, a Sea fort of the Maharajas of Travencore and they enjoyed a picnic lunch and swim with the children on a white sandy beach ringed by palm trees. |
