Large areas of the finest countryside in and around Haslemere and Hindhead are owned and run by the National Trust, safeguarding their future and ensuring access for everyone for ever.
The Black Down & Hindhead Committee is a group of volunteer members who advise local National Trust management on all aspects of their properties and raise funds to pay for improvements.
Through their Committee the Blackdown & Hindhead Supporters –

- Use these funds to pay for improvements on the properties which National Trust operating budgets cannot cover.
- Agree jointly with the National Trust how dedicated funds can be spent on the properties.
- Meet regularly with National Trust management to advise on all aspects of management plans, local issues and opinion.
- Act in this way as the ‘eyes and ears’ of the National Trust and helps to promote goodwill.
- Send an Annual Report and Newsletter to supporters
- Organise an Open Meeting at which supporters can meet local National Trust staff and the Committee.
