Local Tennis coaching company, Go Tennis are new members of Haslemere Chamber of Trade. The company was set up by local coach Jasper Allen to provide tennis coaching in the area.

Jasper, director of Go Tennis tells us that: “The main idea is that children can learn to play or improve their tennis, in a fun way. Go Tennis recently held very successful local indoor Tennis Fun Days during the Christmas Holidays, which were a huge success with local children.” Jasper will run further Go Tennis Camps in the area during the Easter holidays.

“If the children start young learning to play like this, it won’t be long before we have the next mini Federer or Nadal on court locally because the children will have learnt the correct techniques right from the beginning!”

It is not just children however, who can enjoy the benefits of Jasper’s coaching skills, as he maintains that tennis is a good way for adults to not only get fit, but beat the credit crunch blues:

“Everyone realises that tennis is a great game to play, but it is also good way to lose yourself for an hour or two as well. When you are playing a game, or indeed, training, your body produces feel good endorphins and you can forget about the day to day problems of running a business in or surviving the current economic crisis. Naturally, tennis coaching also helps people improve their overall fitness levels, as well as their technique and their game.”

Adult coaching is available on a one-to-one basis, or in a group format at several local clubs and now at the luxury indoor courts in Grayshott. Jasper runs coaching sessions for children indoors at the Edge on a Friday afternoon, on Saturday mornings and Monday afternoons at The Haslemere Lawn Tennis Club, with further sessions for promising young players on Wednesdays. He also runs sessions at Churt, Wrecclesham and Grayshott Tennis clubs.
