WELCOME

Beacon Hill Primary School is a village School serving Hindhead and the surrounding villages.

Originally a small village school, the exterior can be likened to the 'Tardis'. We have extensive grounds which include a large playing field, used for football, rounders and athletics as well as recreational activities and an environmental and pond dipping area, nestling in an acre of woodland which links to and surrounds our Early Years annexe known as 'Browns'. Hard surface playgrounds in the main school area are used for netball and other hard court games. The heated open-air swimming pool is also at the rear of the school and is used throughout the summer months.

Children join our school at the age of four and continue their education in single age classes until they leave for secondary school at the age of eleven. We pride ourselves on the quality of our education and pastoral care which results in high standards of achievement and behaviour whilst giving the children a happy family atmosphere in which to develop. As the Headteacher of Beacon Hill Primary School I am very proud of our Pupils and Staff and invite you to visit our 'Tardis' to experience a quality primary environment.

Veronica Martin - Headteacher

    Ofsted and School Development

Our school was inspected in March 1998. We were delighted that over 90% of our lessons were reported as being good or satisfactory.

Following publication of the Report in April of 1998 the School addressed the issues raised and successfully completed the tasks within the time scale. Parents were invited to a six monthly review and celebrated our acheivements which are now taken forward with the School's Development Plan.

This ensures that the high standards ahieved over the last year will continue.
