Staff

Qualified and experienced staff supervise the children at Grayswood Nursery School. The Nursery is proud to have been awarded accredited status by the Pre-School Learning Alliance, having met all the required criteria for excellence and quality of service. We are also Ofsted approved.

Key workers

Each child in the nursery school is assigned a member of staff as a ‘key worker’. The key worker helps the child settle in and is responsible for ensuring that the child’s needs are recognised and met.

For each child in her care, the key worker compiles a record of observations made of their achievements and progress.

These records remain the property of the nursery school until a child leaves, when the completed file is given to the parents.

Parental involvement

Parents are a child’s first educator and at Grayswood Nursery School we regard parents and staff as partners in the provision of care and education.

Parental involvement in the nursery is encouraged and we request that, whenever possible, parents/carers participate in the sessions on a rota basis, usually about four times a term.

Committee

A committee of parents, elected annually, manages the Nursery. It is non-profit making and a registered Charity. Funding comes from fees and fund-raising activities. Parents of children attending the Nursery are automatically members. We encourage parents to join the committee and their involvement is welcomed in all aspects of the Nursery.
