Tennyson Concert A unique and fascinating concert has been devised by Oliver Davies especially for this Tennyson Weekend and will be held in St. Christopher's Church with its wonderful accoustics. Oliver Davies studied at the Royal College of Music and afterwards with Ilona Kabos and Esther Fisher. In 1971 he was appointed piano professor at the RCM, and in the same year founded the College's Department of Portraits and Performance History. Oliver Davies is joined by Daniela Lehner (mezzo soprano), the BBC's New Generation Artist for Radio 3. The programme will feature singers and instrumentalists in contemporary settings of Tennyson's poems set to music by Balfe, Liszt, Massenet, Saint-Saens, Sullivan and other composers. Rare songs by Edward Lear and Emily Tennyson will be featured.
The concert starts at 8.00pm and tickets are £20 each.
