PLANNING COMMITTEE
The Planning Committee is elected by the Town Council from its own members and ensures it has representation from all wards.
The Town Council remit is to inspect the planning applications made to Waverley Borough Council,
the statutory planning authority, and to recommend approval or objection. The Town Council itself is NOT
a statutory planning authority, but our recommendations are taken seriously by the planning department. Members of the press and public are welcome.
At present the following Councillors are the members of the Planning Committee.
Chairman Peter Isherwood
Vice Chairman William King
Members - Jean Arrick, Pat Blades, Penny Bradley, David Benson, James Edwards (Mayor), Fay Foster, Michael Foster, Gerrad Hall, Cyndy Lancaster (Deputy Mayor), Libby Piper and David Reavley
The Planning Committee meets every four weeks to consider planning applications. Members of the public are
entitled to speak at both Waverley Borough and Haslemere Town Council Planning meetings. They may speak to
support or oppose an application, and are limited to three minutes.
